Adriano Zumbo is one of Australia’s most celebrated pâtissiers, renowned for his imaginative desserts, bold flavour combinations and boundary-pushing approach to pastry.
A country boy from Coonamble, NSW, Adriano began his apprenticeship at just 15, setting him on a path that would see him become one of Australia’s most recognisable names in pâtisserie. He opened his first shop in Balmain in 2007, quickly building a following for his intricate pastries, macarons and showstopping creations.
His appearances on MasterChef Australia introduced his signature croquembouche and infamous V8 dessert to millions of viewers, while his television series Zumbo’s Just Desserts went on to reach audiences around the world through Netflix. Adriano has also appeared as a judge on Netflix’s Sugar Rush and released three bestselling cookbooks, including The Zumbo Files.
Beyond television and retail, Adriano has competed in international pastry competitions and undertaken advanced training at renowned Parisian institutions including l’École Lenôtre, Bellouet Conseil and Pierre Hermé. He regularly travels internationally to teach classes and masterclasses, sharing his knowledge and passion for pastry with the next generation of dessert makers.
Today, Adriano continues to evolve his craft through education, demonstrations, consulting and creative collaborations. Always looking for the next idea, flavour or technique to explore, he brings the same curiosity and infectious energy to pastry that has made him a household name.
