Chef / Carinity
Nicolas Harth

Born and raised on a family farm in Jandowae, Queensland, Nick’s passion for cooking started early under his mother’s guidance. After finishing High School, he faced a choice between a promising music career (having earned his CMusA in piano) or pursuing culinary arts. Choosing cooking, Nick followed in the footsteps of his mother and older brother, both qualified chefs, and completed his apprenticeship in Toowoomba.

Driven by travel, Nick completed two around-the-world trips and worked as a U.S. camp counsellor before relocating to the UK. There, he refined his gastronomy skills in pub and fine-dining establishments, eventually rising to Senior Sous Chef at a prestigious 4-star Rosette award-winning hotel in the Cotswolds, Worcestershire and Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire.

While in England, Nick met his wife, and in 2013, they welcomed triplets. After 12 years in the UK, the family returned to Australia. Nick spent seven years as Head Chef at Toowoomba’s Picnic Point Restaurant before seeking a better work-life balance for his family.

Drawing on early experience helping his mother manage the kitchen at Jandowae’s Taralga retirement village, Nick transitioned into aged care. He stepped into the Chef role at Carinity Brownesholme in Highfields, where he has spent the past five years bringing high-quality dining and deep passion to caring for his residents.
