Robert Comiskey is a Co-Founder and Director of the Comiskey Group—an award-winning, family-owned Queensland company with strategic operations across hotels, resorts, entertainment, and construction.
Holding an Advanced Diploma of Architecture, Rob began his career in construction management for global franchise Subway. In 2004, he joined forces with his father Paul Comiskey, a developer, and brother David, an engineer, to establish the Comiskey Group. Together, they have delivered a diverse range of projects, including shopping and commercial centres, subdivisions, hotels, restaurants, and residential developments—and even ventured into childcare.
Today, Rob oversees all aspects of top-level management and leads the day-to-day operations across the group’s hotel and resort portfolio.
The Comiskey Group has become synonymous with world-class entertainment, operating two of Australia’s most recognised live music venues—Eatons Hill Hotel and Sandstone Point Hotel—which have hosted some of the biggest names in international music.
Building on their hospitality success, the group expanded into accommodation with the development of Sandstone Point Holiday Resort, the highest-selling holiday park within the BIG4 Holiday Parks nationwide network. Their continued growth on the Sunshine Coast includes the launch of The Doonan in March 2023, followed by the strategic acquisition of The Imperial Hotel and its on-site boutique accommodation in Eumundi.
Looking ahead, the Comiskey Group plans to activate the 180-hectare Coochin Fields festival site at Coochin Creek and commence construction of the region’s largest hotel and live music venue, the Aura Hotel in Caloundra. With an ambition to double their portfolio in the coming years, the group has already announced two major upcoming projects in the City of Moreton Bay—the $180 million North Lakes Town Centre and a $250 million five-star hotel at Sandstone Point.
