Sandra Glaister is an experienced executive leader and Board director in health, aged and community care, with extensive expertise in governance, quality, risk, research and continuous improvement.
As Chief of Governance, Risk and Research at Southern Cross Care Queensland, and through her service on Boards, Sandra brings a strong focus on person-centred care, strategic oversight, accountability and meaningful outcomes for older people across regional, rural and remote communities.
Sandra has a particular interest in the role of food in aged care, not only as a source of nutrition, but as a deeply personal experience connected to comfort, culture, memory, identity, meaning and pleasure. With an Italian mother and Polish father, Sandra grew up understanding that life often revolves around food, family and shared meals.
She is passionate about recognising mealtimes as important moments of dignity, connection and wellbeing, and about strengthening aged care catering approaches that enhance quality of life for older people.
