Alexander Bell is a Brisbane-based chemical engineer, distiller, and entrepreneur redefining the craft spirits industry through innovation and sustainability. As co-founder of Milton Distillery, he revived a historic brand with a focus on premium rums and cane spirits. His latest venture, By Artisans, brings together innovation and creative collaborations to produce beautiful, purposeful products crafted with playfulness and precision. Drawing on his engineering expertise, Alexander has developed state-of-the-art distillation and ageing technologies, including continuous columns and energy-efficient systems that significantly reduce resource use. He is also pioneering the transformation of fruit waste, coffee grounds, and eucalyptus leaves into vodkas, gins, and other spirits—embedding circular economy principles at the heart of production.
