I grew up in northern NSW and attended boarding school in Toowoomba, where I later began a hospitality diploma at Toowoomba TAFE. Although I didn’t complete the diploma, my professional journey has provided me with extensive practical experience.
Throughout my career, I’ve primarily worked in customer service roles while raising my three sons. This experience has refined my skills in working directly with the public, which has well-prepared me for managing front-of-house operations.
My father’s lifelong dream was to establish a restaurant and vineyard on our family property, which was purchased in 1992. The restaurant’s building began in 2005, alongside the planting of vines and the extensive planning process. As you can imagine, bringing this vision to life required navigating numerous approvals and a significant financial investment.
We finally opened the doors in 2018. I left my previous job to become the front-of-house manager, despite having limited prior experience in such a role. Our cafe quickly gained popularity, and I soon realised I needed additional support to manage its rapid growth. Fortunately, we found a highly skilled chef and front-of-house manager from whom I learned a great deal. We transitioned our menu from a cafe style to a full restaurant, and our wine sold out within two years, leading us to focus on consistent annual production ever since.
This business has become my life and passion, and it has only grown stronger over the past seven years. My team shares this passion, and we’ve built an incredible group of dedicated individuals. I always work alongside my staff, leading by example and never asking them to do anything I wouldn’t do myself.
I purchased the business from my parents last September. We take pride in creating a welcoming environment where our guests can celebrate special occasions, unwind, and truly relax.
