Tanaya Treadwell is the Chief Executive Officer of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce, an independent, member-based organisation that advocates for business at local, state, and federal levels. In this role, Tanaya leads strategic advocacy, drives regional economic development, and champions the success of local businesses across Toowoomba. Prior to this, Tanaya has built a career in senior leadership across traditional and digital media, serving as General Manager for Hit FM and Triple M in Ballarat, Bendigo and Toowoomba, and was previously the Victorian Commercial Sales Director for Fairfax Media. Her time working across regional cities has driven an appreciation for the way thriving hospitality scenes help shape community culture, economic growth, and liveability. Now proudly calling Toowoomba home, Tanaya is passionate about ensuring regional cities like hers are recognised as critical drivers of Australia’s future prosperity. Her leadership at the Chamber reflects this philosophy: creating opportunities for small business to grow, innovate, and remain central to Toowoomba’s story. A self-confessed foodie, she believes hospitality is the heartbeat of a city. Whether it’s connecting with local producers at the farmers’ market, celebrating the craft of a small-batch gin, or sharing great Greek food, she sees dining as a way of strengthening community ties and celebrating what makes Toowoomba unique. When she’s not advocating for local business, you’ll find her tending to her veggie garden and chooks, enjoying a perfectly mixed gin and tonic, or seeking out the region’s best tapas.
